Thanks. I never took wood shop. This desk has its fit and finish issues. I suppose I consider it a piece of art deco rather then a serious piece of furniture.

That is amazing :) such craftsmanship :) are you a carpenter? What woods are used here? Where did that wonderful grate come from? How long did this take to make? Sorry for all of the questions, this is just amazing :).

The desk is constructed of mahogany, maple, and a small amount of birch. I got the grate from online. I'm not sure were exactly. [link] is one site that has them. It took about a week.
